Every year, AGU Fall Meeting unites >25,000 attendees from 100+ countries in the Earth and space sciences community to discuss findings, connect scientists from around the world, advance our profession and connect over our passion for the impact of science. It convenes thousands of researchers, scientists, educators, students, policymakers, science enthusiasts, journalists, and communicators who are driven to better understand our planet and environment, and our role in preserving its future. It is a results-oriented gathering rooted in celebrating and advancing positive individual and collective outcomes.

Como componente regional del Grupo de Observaciones de la Tierra (GEO), la iniciativa AmeriGEO es un marco para promover la colaboración y coordinación entre los países miembros del GEO en la comunidad Interamericana. Su objetivo es "lograr un futuro en el que las decisiones y acciones, en beneficio de la región, se basen en información y observaciones de la Tierra coordinadas, integrales y sostenidas." AmeriGEO busca aumentar la capacidad institucional e individual a través de la cooperación técnica y científica, la adquisición y el intercambio de datos y tecnología, capacitación, y la participación de expertos y partes interesadas en apoyo de la toma de decisiones y la implementación de políticas sólidas.
